Highland Resources Welcomes ShipStation to Lamar Central
Software company relocates headquarters to award-winning mixed-use development
Austin, Texas (July 12, 2016) Highland Resources, Inc. today announced that Austin e-commerce software company ShipStation has leased office space at its Class-A mixed-use development, Lamar Central, located at 38th Street and North Lamar Boulevard. ShipStation, a web-based shipping software company headquartered in Austin, has inked a lease for approximately 22,000 square feet on the second floor of the building, securing the last remaining office space at Lamar Central, which was recently recognized as the best new office development in Central Texas.
Lamar Central is an ideal fit for a thriving software company looking for a competitive edge, said David Bodenman, Highland Resources Vice President. The prime location, parking, nearby attractions and top-of-the-line amenities at Lamar Central are just a few of the draws that make the development a great place for employers.
ShipStation’s software enables e-commerce retailers to efficiently process, fulfill, and ship orders from the most popular marketplaces and shopping carts using the top carriers. Founded in Austin in 2011, ShipStation was acquired by Stamps.com (Nasdaq: STMP) in 2014 and continues to expand rapidly as an independently operated company. ShipStation’s team has more than doubled in the last year – outgrowing office space on Exposition Blvd.
It’s an incredibly exciting time at ShipStation, to say the least, said Nathan Jones, ShipStation CEO. We’re experiencing tremendous growth; the move to Lamar Central allows us to accommodate more staff, expand our product offerings and better serve current and new users.
We’re thrilled to have a tenant of ShipStation’s caliber at Lamar Central, said Jeff Simmons, Acquisitions and Operations Manager at Highland Resources. It’s also an exciting milestone for our team, as it secures the last of the non-retail space we have available for lease.
The ShipStation office design will focus on a soft industrial feel, featuring private and team-friendly work spaces. Plans also include a spacious gathering area for company events and get-togethers. The move to Lamar Central is currently in progress.
Highland approached Lamar Central with the end-user in mind, said Bob Wynn, Senior Managing Director of Corporate Services at Cushman & Wakefield and Highland’s leasing representative. ShipStation will have ample, onsite parking for employees, which includes direct access from the parking garage to the second floor, and attractive office space designed with high ceilings and open floor plans.
Lamar Central is a unique building in the Central Austin submarket, said Chris Skyles, partner at SkylesBayne and ShipStation’s leasing representative. It was built to an incredibly high standard and offers a rare combination of institutional quality in a boutique package. There isn’t another building like it in the neighborhood.
Additional office tenants include Kendra Scott Design, Regus, Pennybacker Capital, AEC and Academic Works. Retail and dining destinations include Westlake Dermatology, Finley’s Barber Shop, Campagna Napoli, Snooze Eatery and Chameleon Hospitality. More than 16,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor remains available. Contact leasing for more information on remaining retail space.
