Chameleon Hospitality, Team behind Swift’s Attic, Expands to Lamar Central

Signature Central Austin Development Snags Acclaimed Restaurateur’s Next Concept

Austin, Texas (November 5, 2015) Highland Resources, Inc. today announced that the group behind Austin dining favorite Swift’s Attic will open its third concept at recently completed Lamar Central, the developer’s mixed-use project located at 38th Street and North Lamar Blvd. Chameleon Hospitality has inked a 10-year lease for more than 5,000 square feet at the Central Austin development.

“After the success of Swift’s Attic, our first restaurant, and the early positive reception of our second concept, Wu Chow, we are thrilled to open our third unique concept in Austin, said Stuart Thomajan of Chameleon Hospitality. Highland Resources has been great in helping turn our vision into a reality; Lamar Central is an ideal location for us.”

The hospitality group secured the project’s largest dining space on the ground floor of the northeast corner of the building, fronting 39th Street and N. Lamar Blvd. The restaurant will occupy approximately 5,300 square feet of space. Patio seating will be available; pecan trees that were preserved during construction will complement the outdoor dining area.

We re excited to celebrate the completion of the building and to welcome the Chameleon team to the development, said Highland Resources VP David Bodenman. The space is designed with an open layout to welcome visitors and attract foot traffic to the dining and retail destinations Lamar Central will feature. The project team has done a fantastic job, and the final product is something I m personally proud of and proud to have Highland’s name on.

Jeff Townsend and Andrew Scroggie of EDGE Realty Partners negotiated the retail lease on behalf of Chameleon Hospitality, while Eric DeJernett and Bryan McMurrey of CBRE, Inc. negotiated the retail lease on behalf of Highland Resources.

Stuart’s third concept will stand apart from his previous work, but we expect the same superior service and creativity that have been so well-received at Swift’s Attic, said Bryan McMurrey of CBRE. Lamar Central is the perfect fit.

Lamar Central features a four-story parking garage and an open, 13,000 square-foot landscaped courtyard that will be available to diners. In addition to the visitor garage parking, the building includes car-2-go stations, Cap Metro connections, ample bike storage and an electric car-charging station. The restaurant will also offer valet parking on 39th Street.

Chameleon will join fellow Lamar Central tenants Kendra Scott Design, Snooze an A.M. Eatery, and Regus.

The location is ideal, and the restaurant will be in good company with such established tenants like Kendra Scott and Snooze, said Jeff Townsend of EDGE Realty.
